Offender escapes from Nelspruit Correctional Centre

MBOMBELA – Madumbuque Acacid Agastirho has escaped from Nelspruit Correctional Centre yesterday.

The escapee is an Mozambican national, sentenced to 90 days for being in the country illegally.

According to the Department of Correctional Services, the South African Police Services has launched a man hunt in an effort to rearrest the offender.

“The public is advised to immediately contact their nearest police station and never attempt to institute a citizen’s arrest as Agastirho is now regarded to be dangerous. The Department of Correctional Services remains concerned about any escape and continues to strive towards the ideal standard of zero escapes,” said the department.
