The Mpumalanga Department of Health has suspended a doctor who was found with medicine and equipment worth R50 000.
The 31 year-old doctor, who is employed at Middelburg Hospital was arrested last Friday when she was stopped and searched by security personnel at the gate.

MEC for Health, Sasekani Manzini condemned the incident stating that action will be taken by the department to anyone who attempts to steal medication and medical equipment as it negatively affects health service delivery that is meant for communities.
“As a department, we do not condone such acts. Disciplinary action will be taken by to correct the wrong behaviour,” said Manzini.
