Premier Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane, together with MEC for Health, Sasekani Manzini‘s efforts of getting more people vaccinated, have been intensified to include mining companies across the province.
Having commenced with Sasol on Monday where more than 8 000 workers were targeted to be vaccinated on the day. At Sasol alone, more than 20 000 will be vaccinated. Today, the provincial government partnership drive will be at Exarro, Marla Coal Mine to view its state-of-the-art medical centre, whereby, vaccination jabs to its workers will take place. She will be accompanied by Gert Sibande District Municipality executive mayor, Muzi Chirwa.
Mtshweni-Tsipane says the pace at which the elderly and males were coming to vaccinate was worrisome as their numbers were still low, hence this drive to educate and encourage them to volunteer to vaccinate. On Wednesday, the drive moves to Robernia, a SAFCOL plantation in Amsterdam, Mkhondo Local Municipality.
