Former State Security Minister, Bongani Bongo and his 11 co-accused appeared briefly in the Nelspruit Commercial Crimes Court on Thursday for a pre-trial date.
Robert Barwise, Patrick Donald Chirwa, Harrington Sizwakhendaba Dhlamini, Blessing Mduduzi Singwane and David Boy Dube. Sipho Joel Bongo, Vusi Willem Magagula, Bongani Louis Henry Sibiya, Elmon Lawrence Mdaka.

Sibongile Mercy Mdaka and Sandile Nkosi are facing 69 charges. They range from fraud, theft, corruption and contravening of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA). The following companies, Little River Trading 156, Broad Markert Trading 204. Additionally, Bongiveli CC and Pfuka Afrika CC are also implicated.
On 10 January 2022, the state was ready to proceed with the trial. However, some of the accused changed their legal representatives. They postponed the matter for the new legal representatives to familiarise themselves with the contents of the dockets.

They postponed the matter for November 8 to 25, 2022, for a trial in the same court. All the accused are out on bail on condition they do not interfere with state witnesses and to attend court until the matter is completed.
