Three Carolina Spar employees William Viljoen, Hannes Terblanche, and Obi Nortjie appeared briefly in the Carolina District Court yesterday.
The trio face charges of murder, assault with grievous bodily harm and kidnapping. According to the National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Monica Nyuswa, the accused abandoned their bail application and the case was postponed to September 16 for further investigations.

It is alleged that on the August 14, Thulani and Thabiso Sibanyoni insulted an employee at Spar. Nortjie was called. Viljoen and Terblanche also joined Nortjie at the storeroom where they severely assaulted Thulani and Thabani. As a result, Thulani Sibanyoni, was taken to the hospital and later succumbed to the injuries.
