They met at a popular Emalahleni shisanyama, Value Meat Real Braai two months ago and the rest is history…
Themba Malaza (33) and Chardonney Lessing (21) got married at the joint over the weekend where their union was witnessed by family, friends and patrons.
The two got engaged on October 19, 2024 when Malaza took that leap of faith and went on his knees, asking the love of his life to marry him.
He admits it was nerve-wrecking and had mixed emotions when he popped the big question.
“I was scared that she would not accept the proposal, but she said yes and the planning of the wedding ceremony started,” says Malaza.

According Value Meat’s marketing manager, Bathini Letlaka, this was the second proposal at the venue. However, this time around, they stepped in by assisting with sourcing out everything needed for the couple to have their perfect “Groove Wedding.”

The bride expressed gratitude to the owner and staff at Value Meat for the support and ensuring all is ready and set.
“My highlight was the moment we walked into the venue and how people were happy. That really stood out for me. We had our dream wedding and we are happy,” she said.
Lobola being a traditional African custom, did not stop any of the couple’s plans, but the groom intends to follow the right procedures as soon as he is financially stable.
