MBUZINI – Parents of learners at Ndindindi Primary School conveyed their appreciation to the provincial education department for the recently constructed state-of-the-art school.
The school was formally handed over by the MEC for Education, Cathy Dlamini on Tuesday. The R31.9 million project commenced in 2023 and was successfully completed within a year. The school consists of eight classrooms, computer lab, admin block, netball court, play area and a library.
Representing the parents, Xolile Shungube, the Chairperson of the School Governing Body (SGB), expressed her appreciation for the government’s involvement in the construction of the school. She remarked that they have been looking forward to this day for an extended period.

“We are very much excited today, looking at how things were, we didn’t believe that they would actually build this school, but we are thankful to the department of education and public works that they did such a wonderful job,” she lamented.
Inkhosi Mlambo II, Mandlenkosi Mahlalela said this project marks a significant turnaround for his people, stating: “We are very much impressed to have an infrastructure of this caliber, we want to say thank you so much to our government, the Department Of Education.
Meanwhile, MEC Dlamini stated that the department is focusing on infrastructure initiatives in the majority of schools across the province.
“In terms of the total number that we have as a project that is speaking to Sanitation, renovation, maintenance, and new schools, we are talking about over 400 projects that the province is building. But in terms of schools replacements and new schools, we are currently building 29 schools, this one was one of the schools that we were building,” Dlamini concluded.
