Elandshoek community to access SASSA services

South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga and other key government stakeholders such as department of Home Affairs, Health, Social Development and local municipality, will be taking services to Elandshoek community, which is located in the N4 outskirts of Mbombela local municipality.

The Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is implemented to bring services to the people and ensure that communities has full access to SASSA social grant services.

The Agency identified this area because it is an informal settlement and costly transport to clients. This community travels 77 km to reach SASSA Nelspruit service offices.

Majority of the Elandshoek community are depending on social grants and mostly were foreigners from Mozambique and eSwatini, some naturalised citizens and make a living through seasonal employment at the agricultural farms.

SASSA is reaching out and conducting beneficiary education to empower the public about social grants information. Access and equal opportunity is an essential human rights, enshrined in the Bill of rights of the constitution.

Services such as Grant Application, attending SRD Covid-19 grant enquiries and change of payment method will be rendered. Government Departments including Home Affairs, DSD, NYDA, and SAPS and banking institutions will be also servicing the community.
