At just 11 years old, Mivuyo Ncapayi is making a name for herself on the international stage.
A talented young actress and public speaker, Mivuyo’s passion for performance began early, as she first took to public speaking in Grade 2.
Inspired by Hollywood legend Denzel Washington for his unwavering Christian values, she dreams of one day becoming more famous than Sabrina Carpenter while also pursuing a career in law and eventually rising to the rank of a judge.
Mivuyo recently achieved a groundbreaking victory by being named the Overall Junior Actor at the prestigious Stars of the Universe competition, where she competed against participants from eight countries. Outshining over 500 competitors, she claimed the top spot in her category, marking a significant milestone in her budding career.
Her impressive victory at Stars of the Universe has also earned her a place at the upcoming Mediterranean International Arts Festival, set to take place from July 12 to 19, 2025. She will represent South Africa on an even bigger stage in both Spain and France, bringing pride to her hometown and country.

Mivuyo’s journey to international success began at the Talent Africa National Round, held in September last year from at the Vereeniging Barnyard, followed by her participation in the Talent Africa Virtual Nationals from October 1 to 8, 2024. Her stellar performances at these events secured her qualification for Stars of the Universe, where she went on to claim the highest junior acting award.
In addition to her Overall Junior Actor title, Mivuyo has won multiple prestigious awards, including a Gold Award in Acting Commercial at Stars of the Universe International Performing Arts Cup 2025 and a Silver Award in Acting Drama.
She has also excelled in public speaking, earning multiple Gold awards in Eisteddfod Persuasive Public Speaking and Undramatized Poetry.
Mivuyo expresses deep excitement about her upcoming international representation, stating, “I feel happy and joyful that I will be representing South Africa in two different countries, Spain and France. I have always dreamt of being a global citizen and reaching the top, and I’m so happy that my dream has come true at such a young age.”
Her first major competition was Talent Africa in September 2023, which set her on the path to Stars of the Universe on January 31, 2025. Having placed in the Top 10 at Talent Africa, she has now claimed the number one spot as a Junior Actor at Stars of the Universe, proving her talent against competitors from across the globe.
Mivuyo’s success is a testament to her hard work, passion, and dedication. With her sights set on excelling in both acting and law, her future looks incredibly bright. South Africa can be proud of this young star as she prepares to take on the world stage in Spain and France next year.
