MBOMBELA – The Shabangu family has released an official statement following the passing of Mncedisi Baldwin Shabangu.
The actor, playwright and director from KaNyamazane is said to have passed away in the early hours of this morning.

“The family appreciates all messages of condolence and requests privacy at this difficult time. We will announce soon memorial and funeral arrangements,” reads the statement.
He was known for his role as Khulekani’s in popular soapie, Rhythm City, which he scooped an award in the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) for Best Supporting Actor.

Theatre remained his passion and was trained at the Market Theatre Laboratory and London Royal National Theatre Studio. He has been part of many theatre productions including Woza Albert, Tshepang, Best Wedding Ever and many others.
