A collision on the N4 between Middelburg and Emalahleni claimed four lives. The crash happened just after 5:00am this morning.
The driver of the minibus and three passengers succumbed to injuries. “Four other passengers sustained serious injuries and rushed to the nearest hospital. An investigation is underway to establish what caused the crash.”

On December 2021, around the same time of this incident, seven males died in an accident between Kwaggafontein and Moteti after their vehicle overturned.
20 more people sustained serious injuries. They received medical attention at KwaMhlanga and Philadelphia hospitals. The seriously injured includes the driver.

“We believe that the driver of the vehicle may have lost control. The vehicle veered off the road before crashing to the side. The investigation into the crash is already underway. Overloading is one thing that the probe will look into,” said Community Safety, Security and Liaison spokesperson Moeti Mmusi.
