The deceased includes a driver, three passengers, and they were all occupants in the sedan. Two passengers in the sedan sustained serious injuries, and they were taken to the nearby Ermelo Provincial Hospital.
“The driver of the truck escaped with no injuries. We believe that the crash may have occurred as a result of dangerous overtaking. The crash, however, is now the subject of the investigation by the authorities. At the time, the sedan was entering the N17 from R65,” said Community Safety spokesperson Moeti Mmusi.
