Hawks spokesperson, Hangwani Mulaudzi resigned after allegations of corruption surfaced linking him to have benefitted R3 million from the National Lottery Commission fund to his non-profit organisation.
Head of Hawks, Godfrey Lebeya confirmed that he received a resignation letter from Mulaudzi. “In his letter he indicated that the resignation is based on personal reasons. There’s no any other specific reason except the fact that it’s personal. Based on that and following the police, the South African Police Act, I decided to accept the request for resignation and we terminated his services,” said Libya.

Lebeya mentioned that from today Mulaudzi will no longer be in service or the spokesperson of the directorate. ” We’ve appointed an acting spokesperson, section head for communications which is Colonel Katlego Mogale. Going forward she’ll be the one communicating till further notice.”
