BETHAL – Three family members were shot dead by their son-in-law last Saturday in Kanana.
The suspect’s wife was also shot and is currently in hospital fighting for her life. This is following an argument that broke out between the couple on the day around 15:00.

According to police, the shootings took place during a visit to the wife’s family. They allege that while arguing; the man drew a pistol and shot at his wife, father-in-law, brother-in-law, his sister-in-law.
The suspect then handed himself over at the Ermelo Police Station with the pistol and ammunition. The police charged him with three counts of murder and an additional charge of attempted murder.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect and his wife were having some marital challenges which might have triggered the situation.
