A side swipe collision between a VW Polo and a Honda Ballade claimed three lives around 12:30 between Komatipoort and Tonga this morning.
According to the Community Safety, Security and Liaison’s spokesperson, Mmoeti Mmusi, the driver might of the VW Polo might have lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree on the side of the road.
“All three deceased, a female driver and two male passengers, died at the scene and they were occupants in the VW Polo,” he said.
The driver of the Honda Ballade, who was alone in the car, was not injured. The cause of the crash is not known at this stage but the investigation is already underway.
