TS Galaxy thumped Orlando Pirates with a goal to nil in their DStv Premiership encounter at Mbombela Stadium yesterday.
Having not won in each of their last two league matches, the visitors were looking to revive their bid for continental football while travelling to a side desperate for respite from the threat of relegation.

The game’s early chances all fell to the Buccaneers, with Thembinkosi Lorch firing goal-ward from long range after spotting Galaxy goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi off his line seven-minutes in, but only curling his effort wide of the target.

Bucs struggled to find the ball behind the net as the game progressed, but The Rockets denied them the opportunity. Orebotse Mongae almost increased their lead, but Richard Ofori made a good diving save to keep the Bucs at bay. Galaxy led by a goal just before half-time after Lifa Hlongwane netted in the 34th minute mark. The game intensified in the last few minutes before the final whistle. Pirates many attempts to find the ball behind the net fell flat. The Rockets emerged as victors.
