PIENAAR – Mbombela residents came in numbers to bid a final farewell to Moses “Lady Mo” Sibiya, a beloved social media sensation and socialite who tragically passed away in a car accident on July 4, 2025.
Known for his vibrant energy, comedic flair, and soulful funeral singing, Lady Mo left an indelible mark on the community.
Lady Mo’s funeral service was held at the Msogwaba Sports Ground in Pienaar, where thousands gathered to pay their respects.
The atmosphere was both mournful and celebratory, with mourners dressed in black and white, singing and dancing in honour of a youngster who brought light to many lives during their darkest hours.
Lady Mo’s friends and family shared heartfelt tributes, remembering him as a beacon of joy and a symbol of small-town dreams finding big expression.

Speaking during the service, Phindile Sifunda, a close friend, spoke passionately about Lady Mo’s impact, saying, “Moses, you’ve fought a remarkable fight on this earth, leaving an undeniable impact. You touched many lives, and that’s why your loss is felt so deeply today.
“Your influence extended far beyond inspiration, as you empowered local businesses to flourish. I’d like to extend my gratitude to everyone who supported you throughout your journey and to those who contributed to making this farewell service a fitting tribute.”
Dudu Mhlanga, another friend, credited Lady Mo for helping her business succeed. Family representative, Ernest Sibiya expressed gratitude, saying, “We are deeply shattered by his passing, but we can never question God’s will. We would like to thank everyone who made sure he gets a dignified send-off.”
