A woman, identified as Lucy Clara Makhabane, appeared at the Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court in Tonga on Friday, May 10 on a charge of murder.
This court appearance comes after a murder of another woman on Wednesday, May 8 after the discovery of her body laying on the street in Tonga.

The police believe that the victim is in her late twenties. The police noticed some visible bruises on her body, and a murder case was opened.
“The deceased, who was employed as a domestic worker, apparently went to the suspect’s house for some kind of cash transfer. The victim was allegedly assaulted and lost consciousness and was dumped on the street,” said the police.
Tonga saps are on a manhunt for two other individuals, believed to be linked in this case. They urge anyone with information that may assist in apprehending them to contact Detective Sergeant Manelisi Mashabane on 0826648624.

All received information will be treated as confidential, and callers may opt to remain anonymous. The court postponed the case to May 15 to apply for bail while she remains in custody.
