MBOMBELA- Deputy President, Paul Mashatile says the Red Tape Reduction Unit‘s intervention will deal with challenges small businesses face.
This was during the African National Congress Fundraising Gala Dinner on Tuesday at the Mbombela Stadium where he delivered a keynote address.
Mashatile told guests that through this team appointed by President Cyril Ramaphosa, all weaknesses will be dealt with in government.
“Many of our government departments have delay issues in awarding tenders, and not being paid on time. In particular, small businesses. When we do not pay small businesses on time, we are killing them.”
“We are now removing these impediments because many economies thrive through small businesses. Let us pay them on time,”Mashatile emphasised.

He further said the unit will ensure that there is a functional democracy that can implement decisions timeously. He also appealed to MECs, Director Generals, Chief Directors and Chief Financial Officers to address supply chain matters for the economy to function.
“In order to get the economy to work, things must move at a faster pace and ensure that women also become a critical component in transformation,” he said.
