Initial reports suggested that he had gone to buy sweets at a tuck shop on the day of his disappearance. However, Mabandla’s uncle, Mbongeni Sifunda told the media that he had left the house saying he was going to look for his mother nearby.

“This is very disturbing because he insisted on wearing specific clothing items. Our neighbour saw him entering another yard and that was the last time he was seen. His mother started becoming worried around 17:00 when he was not returning home. We started looking for him even at the store where he usually buys, but he was not found,” he said.
The family has pleaded with anyone who may gave information on his whereabouts to contact Mbongeni Sifunda on 0660958312.
“We are hurt because he still young. We will not lose hope and will continue to work with the police,” he concluded.
