Bus crash claims nine lives

Nine people were killed in a gruesome bus crash on the N3 between Heidelberg and Villiers this morning.

The bus lost control, overturning into a stream before hitting a bridge. Three people also sustained critical injuries. All deceased’s’ died at the scene.

“The cause of the crash remains unclear at this stage. However, the crash investigation teams have already been dispatched to the scene to begin with the probe,” said Community Safety, Security and Liaison spokesperson Moeti Mmusi.

MEC Vusi Shongwe wishes those injured a speedy recovery and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
