MBOMBELA- Four people died in a multiple vehicle crash between a Light Delivery Vehicle (LDV) and two sedans on the N4 Toll Road between Karino and Nelsville.
Two sedans were travelling from Karino towards Nelsville when one of the two sedans first collided with a bakkie and the other sedan crashed into the two vehicles that had already collided head on.
Community Safety, Security and Liaison spokesperson, Moeti Mmusi said four of the deceased were occupants in a sedan that initially collided with the bakkie. The deceased were burnt beyond recognition when the sedan caught fire on impact.

“The driver of the bakkie sustained serious injuries while the driver of the other sedan escaped with slight injuries. The injured were rushed to hospital. The investigation into the crash is already underway although dangerous overtaking cannot be ruled out at this stage,” said Mmusi.
