The four men accused of killing an elderly couple abandoned their bail in the Carolina Magistrate’s Court.
During their appearance on Monday, 7 March, the defence attorney informed the court that the accused are no longer proceeding with their bail application.

The accused are Njabulo Glen Shongwe, Siboniso Perseverance Nkosi, Sandile Sherpard Nkambule and Promise Nxumalo. They all face two counts of murder and robbery in aggravating circumstances. Their ages range between 19 and 23.
This follows allegations of the four breaking into the couple’s house. They allegedly murdered and robbed them of their cellphones. They found their vehicle abandoned close to their home.

National Prosecuting Authority provincial spokesperson Monica Nyuswa said they postponed the matter to May, 16 2022 for further investigation.
