KWAMHLANGA – Various issues were tackled at The Widows Forum, including widows dating younger men.
The Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature hosted the event last Thursday at the Government Complex Chamber. Widows were in conversation and given a platform to share their experiences.

One speaker, who is also a widow, MEC of Culture, Sports and Recreation, Thandi Shongwe pleaded with widows and widowers to maintain their character. She discouraged widows from dating Ben 10s and to be rooted in Jesus Christ.
Speaker of the provincial legislature, Makhosazane Masilela said such events are of importance to raise public awareness. It is also to share experiences, knowledge, educate and inspire women who have had to undergo the sudden loss of their loved ones.

This year’s theme was celebrated under the theme: “Making follow up on promises made by government”. Other issues discussed included unemployment, the drawing of wills, rejection,estate administration and raising children and single parents.
