The African National Congress has temporarily suspended Deputy Convener of Ehlanzeni Region, Ngrayi Ngwenya with immediate effect.
This follows after what the organisation describes as “inflammatory speech,” that he made outside former President Jacob Zuma’s home in Nkandla last weekend. The Provincial Working Committee said Ngwenya’s behaviour and utterances brought the party into disrepute.
“Furthermore you contravened the Covid-19 regulations by travelling from Mpumalanga province to KwaZulu-Natal and bussed others from our province defying Covid-19 regulations gazetted regulations. This was in prohibition of inter-provincial travelling which caused people to gather and sing profane slogans at the former President’s home,” read the statement.
