Church congregants robbed at gunpoint

A group of about 15 armed suspects held worshippers at a Mosque in Kabokweni on Friday.

According to a police statement, the suspects who were occupants of a white Toyota Quantum stormed into the church and held worshippers at gunpoint.

“They robbed them of their belongings, including cell phones. Their vehicle registration is JRH 078 MP before they fled the scene,” reads the statement.

A case of business robbery was opened, and a search for the suspects was on. The police advised anyone with information to contact Detective Lieutenant Colonel Zenzo Banda on 0823739062.

They can also call the Crime Stop number on 0860010111. Alternatively, members of the public can send information via the MYSAPSAPP. All received information will be confidential, and callers may opt to remain anonymous.
