A head-on collision occurred this afternoon around 15:00pm on the N2 between Ermelo and Mkhondo today.
The collision claimed three lives. The deceased were all passengers in the sedan. The driver of the sedan and another passenger sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Piet Retief Hospital.

According to Community Safety, Security and Liaison spokesperson, Mmoeti Mmusi the driver of the truck got away with slight injuries.
“It is not yet clear as to what caused the crash. The police are investigating cases of culpable homicide. The road had to be opened on one lane to enable the emergency personnel and the law enforcement agencies to work on the scene,” said Mmusi.
