Duo bust with dagga worth R1 million

Two suspects will appear in court soon after they were arrested for dealing in dagga.

The suspects aged 30 and 36 were arrested in Barberton on Monday, January 13 during the Vala Umgodi operation when their car was spotted by police.

“They tried to make a turn, but members swiftly acted and immediately stopped the vehicle. While their vehicle was searched, 10 bags loaded with dagga weighing about 270,05 kilograms were recovered. The estimated street value of the dagga is at about R1 million,” reads a police statement.

Investigations revealed that the suspects were en-route to deliver the dagga from the border of the Kingdom of eSwatini to Sheba when they were arrested.
