Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of human remains in the bushes near Emaphakama in Pienaar on Monday, October 13.
According to information received, women who were passing by the area noticed what appeared to be human bones. They immediately alerted the police.
The police’s forensic experts attended the scene as well and the remains were collected for further investigation. The probe will also aim at determining the identity of the person as well as circumstances surrounding the discovery.

Police are urging members of the public who may have a missing loved one, or anyone with information that could assist in the investigation, to come forward.
