A learner was stabbed to death by another learner at Thomas Nhlabathi Secondary School in Embalenhle, Secunda, yesterday.
According to the preliminary report from the school, the learner succumbed to his injuries sustained after he was stabbed by a fellow learner within the school premises. The details of what led to the stabbing are unknown at this stage.

“The Department has received with shock the news of the passing of a Grade 12 Learner. The department has since requested the school to send a detailed report on the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident,” said the department’s spokesperson Gerald Sambo.
The department further stated that they’ll send officials from the Inclusive Education and Wellness section this morning to render psychosocial services to everyone who is affected by this tragic incident.
