Local producer suspects sabotage behind armed robbery

ELUKWATINI – A local producer and artist Xolani ‘Swift’ Lukhele is crying foul after three armed men gained entry at his house and stole his work equipment hours before the release of a new music video.

Lukhele said he suspects that the men who took his tools of trade at gunpoint on Thursday evening were aimed at sabotaging his career.

“We were supposed to release a music video at midnight on that day. Whoever was behind the robbery knew and planned to sabotage me. Luckily, the videographer still had a copy,” said Lukhele.

Items that were stolen include a laptop, flash drives, external hard drives, four cellphones, a TV screen and clothes.

Lukhele has pleaded with the community to assist with any information on the robbery and report to the Elukwatini police station.

“It’s a huge loss, not only to me but other artists whose unreleased music was stored in those devices including house plans I did for clients. I am pleading with the community to assist me with information so I could retrieve my work,” added Lukhele.
