A 21 year-old man will appear in the Secunda Magistrate’s Court tomorrow for allegedly kidnapping, raping and killing a minor.
The suspect was arrested in Charl Cilliers on Sunday, 8 March after the police received a complaint of a missing child and immediately activated units of the SAPS that included Crime Intelligence, K9 and Detectives, to search for the child.

The team was joined by private security officers, farmers and members of the local Community Police Forum with the search leading to the discovery of the clothes of the child dumped near a maize field. Further investigation resulted into the arrest of the suspect who led the police to the maize field where the body of the missing child was found.
