A 40-year-old S’fiso Johannes Khumalo is sought by the Mpumalanga Hawks for a fraud case.
According to the Hawks, it is believed he can assist in investigation into Rockdale Reconstruction and Development Programme (RDP) houses fraud case. The Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation said it is alleged that in October 2018, Sylvia Nyandeni, an employee of Steve Tshwete Municipality allegedly colluded with Khumalo to defraud applicants of RDP houses in Middelburg. Nyandeni misrepresented herself as having the authority to receive money from the applicants. The victims were given Khumalo’s bank account to deposit the funds which amounted to over R700 000.
