Matric learner bitten at school by snake dies

An 18 year-old grade 12 learner succumbed to a snake bite on Monday evening.

According to the Department of Education, the incident occurred during a camp organised in preparation for the National Senior Examinations. The deceased was a learner at Mawewe Secondary School in the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality.

The MEC, Bonakele Majuba visited the school. Meanwhile, learners at the school are undergoing counselling.
