The South African Weather Service confirmed the report of snowfall in some parts of Mpumalanga today.

Maximum temperatures of 13°C are expected with the cold front, and minimum temperatures qualify for snow. According to the SAWS, the snow comes with cold conditions expected to last until the end of the week. The SAWS advised the public and small stock farmers that the cold, wet and windy conditions may pose a risk to livestock, vulnerable crops and plants.

Severe frost is expected overnight and on Wednesday morning. The public is also warned to keep warm during these cold conditions. Ermelo and Dullstroom are among other areas experiencing snowy conditions since the morning. Here are some pictures:
