NKOHLAKALO- The family of a woman who went missing in May last year was shocked to find out she was buried in their yard by their younger brother.
The suspect, Mluleki Nkosi was arrested on Tuesday, June 3 after confessing that he had killed and concealed Sibongile Precious Nkosi’s (44) body around their yard in May 2024.
Speaking to the deceased and suspect’s brother, Vusumuzi Nkosi, he said he could still not believe what had happened as the two siblings lived together. The last he saw her was the day she came back to their family home after she had visited him at his house.
“On the week she returned, our brother who lives in Gauteng called our younger brother informing him that he would be coming over that weekend. We learnt that on Friday, he painted parts of the house and outside wall. The marks are visible.”

He said he started suspecting something was wrong when he instructed the suspect to check when last Sibongile collected her medication from a nearby clinic. He continuously enquired about her disappearance, with no luck.
“It was on Monday when I received a call from one of our neighbours telling me that he had just confessed that he killed and buried her at home. That was after he stole a laptop from one of the houses near. I still cannot believe how he could have hidden something like this. I think I will be fine once I speak to him and ask him why he did this,” he said.
Police say DNA tests will be conducted as part of the ongoing investigation. Meanwhile, Mluleki appeared in the Kabokweni Magistrate’s Court this afternoon where he informed the court that he does to intend to apply for bail. He also stated that he does not want a legal representative. The case was postponed to August 14, 2025. He remains in custody.
