BARBERTON – Murder accused Velly Thwala asked the magistrate to clear the gallery during his appearance this morning.

His third appearance comes after he found by residents with 19-year- old Nosipho Nontobeko Msithini’s body in a bag on February 19.

After making his request, the magistrate informed him that the public had every right to be present in court.

“This is a public gallery and anyone interested in a case is allowed inside. We cannot ask people to leave,” said magistrate Phumeza Mthuyedwa.

His bail application was further postponed due to the absence of the Investigative Officer being on leave. He will be back in court on Tuesday March 14.
