HENDRINA – The police are probing a murder case with an additional charge of rape following an incident where an 11-year-old girl was murdered at a farm on Sunday evening, August 25 around 19:30pm.
According to a report, the girl’s mother was in sought of her daughter but without any success. When reporting her missing, she revealed that her sister’s male companion could know something about her daughter’s sudden disappearance. She further explained that, before her child went missing, the girl was last seen with this man in question.
Police went to the said farm to investigate and upon arrival, they went to look for this man but at that time, he had already left. However, they managed to gain entry to his shack where blood stains were noticed.
“As they continued searching, at about 100 metres away from the shack, they discovered the naked body of the child with some stab wounds. The little girl was unfortunately certified dead by the medical personnel at the scene. It was at this point when the case was opened and preliminary investigation suggests that the girl could have been raped by the suspect,” reads a statement.

The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage and no one has been arrested so far
Police are still in pursuit of the perpetrator who allegedly murdered another male in February this year. He was arrested was granted R5000 bail.

Meanwhile investigators are adamant that Vusi Nkambule (27), whose picture is attached, may assist in the investigation. Nkambule is urged to immediately contact the police as soon as he gets the message. Anyone who knows his whereabouts can also alert the authorities.
