Premier places Human Settlements HOD on special leave

MBOMBELA – Premier Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane has placed Head of Department for the Department of Human Settlements, Kebone Masange on special leave.

According to Mtshweni-Tsipane’s spokesperson, Sibongile Mkani-Mpolweni, the premier’s decision is informed by the responsibility to grant Masange sufficient space and time to attend to the recent developments pertaining to allegations of Masange contravening immigration laws.

Last week it was reported that Masange had been detained in Pretoria and appeared in court on September 2 where he was released on warning. He’s expected back in court on September 11 pending further investigations.

An acting HOD has been appointed in the department.
