Commercial radio station, RISE fm started the new month with a new line-up featuring familiar voices on air.
TheBigZill Onair, Mpumi Mbethe and Carol Sanderson officially made their comeback today following the station’s announcement on Friday, October 31, 2025.
The station says unveiling the exciting line-up is to strengthen its on-air presence and position the station as the preferred choice for the Province of the Rising Sun, Mpumalanga.
TheBigZill Onair, who makes a much-anticipated comeback, will host RISE fm’s brand-new breakfast show, Good Morning Mpumalanga, alongside Zilungile Mnisi on news and GTZ on sports.

Mpumi will host The Midday Escape (weekdays, 11h00–14h00). “It will feel like being in a coffee shop with a friend during your lunch break — you don’t want the conversation to end even when it’s time to go back to work,” said Mpumi.
Carol Sanderson takes over the station’s new Sunday morning religious show (06h00–09h00) — a programme inspired by African spirituality and tradition.
According to RISE fm Station Manager, Makhosi Khoza, the changes are part of a bold strategy to shake up the
market and reaffirm RISE fm’s appeal among listeners and advertisers, alike.
“We’re reclaiming our position as the cool kids everyone wants to hang out with. These changes are not just about programming, they’re about connecting deeply with Mpumalanga’s people and culture,” Khoza said.
The full new line-up is available on all RISE fm digital platforms.
