A School Governing Body Chairperson is due to appear before the Emalahleni Magistrate’s Court today for murder.
This follows a meeting which was held last Friday where violence erupted resulting in a 22-year-old man was stabbed to death.

According to police, the meeting was held at Duvhapark Primary School at Emalahleni allegedly to address concerns by some community members.
“As the meeting was in progress, a scuffle broke out among attendees of the meeting resulting in the suspect allegedly stabbing another man. The victim was then taken to hospital for treatment where he later succumbed to his injuries,” read the statement.

The Police were notified about the incident leading to the arrest of the 43-year-old man. Meanwhile, the Mpumalanga Department of Education deployed officials to the school to gather more information on the circumstances that led to the incident. These officials will thereafter table a report and advise on the course of action to be undertaken by the Department.
Furthermore, the Department conveys its sincere condolences to the bereaved family, friends and relatives of the deceased man.
