Political activist, Sizwe Nyambi is fighting for his life in hospital following a shooting incident on Tuesday evening, 01 October.
According to the police, the victim was with a companion when an armed man wearing a black jersey and white hat approached him as he was about to open the gate.
The suspect started firing shots, resulting in the victim sustaining injuries.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdluli said despite attempting to seek refuge in his house, the suspect continued firing at the victim as he tried to flee towards safety.

“The suspect fled the scene and is currently at large. The victim was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment and is fighting for his life though he is receiving the necessary care.
“The police urge members of the public with any information that may assist in the arrest of the suspect involved in this heinous crime, “he said
An investigation into the shooting is already underway.
