A suspect, Shane Ngutjane who hijacked a tourist’s vehicle was denied bail by the Nelspruit Regional Court on Tuesday.
Ngutjane was arrested in July by the Mpumalanga Task Team after he hijacked a vehicle of a tourist in Culcutta after the police received a tip-off about his whereabouts.
According to the Hawks, upon arrival, the suspect allegedly started shooting at the police and they retaliated. Ngutjane was shot and was arrested.
