A 30-year-old suspect has handed himself over to police, following the fatal stabbing of his 34-year-old brother.
The incident occurred last night at Nkohlakalo Trust, outside Kabokweni. According to reports, police were alerted at around 22:30pm to a scene where a man had been stabbed and later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. The victim with was found with multiple stab wounds.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim was allegedly stabbed by his 30-year-old brother, who is reported to be a mental health patient, using a sharp object during an altercation. Community and family members allegedly tried to intervene, but the suspect fled the scene shortly after the incident.
The suspect has since handed himself over to the police.
A case of murder has been opened at Kabokweni SAPS, and investigations are ongoing.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Kabokweni Magistrate’s Court on 30 April, 2026 facing a charge of murder.
