“This office would like to thank Mbali Mpungose, who was the first one on the scene. She sought not only help but took two minors from the scene. She kept them in her vehicle to save them from the trauma of the accident. We would also thank the firefighters from Lekwa who did a sterling job of retrieving injured passengers.
ACCIDENT SCENE:
“They retrieved them in a taxi without causing much damage or endangering their lives. We also want to thank the Traffic Officers and the police who worked tirelessly to control the traffic for hours in the rain. Special thanks go to the paramedics and the Standerton Hospital staff. We humbled by the care, support and professionalism shown by the staff at Sunshine Hospital in Benoni while treating our patients from this accident,” read the municipality’s statement.
