MGANDUZWENI – Three houses belonging to those arrested in connection with Bontle Mashiyane’s murder were burnt by angry residents last night.
This is after Collen Hlongwane (36), an ex-convict together with Ntombikayise Ngwenya (40), and Thapelo Ngomane (25) appeared in the KaBokweni Magistrate’s Court on Monday. They abandoned their bail and face charges of kidnapping, rape, and murder.

Meanwhile, spokesperson for the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison Moeti Mmusi has called for calm in the community.
“We would not like to see people taking the law into their own hands but to allow due processes in court to take place,” he said. The trio will appear in the Masoyi Periodical Court on June 24. Investigations continue.
