A suspect was arrested in connection with the murder of a German tourist who was fatally shot at Numbi Road on October 3.

The 32-year-old appeared at the Kabokweni Magistrate’s Court today facing charges of murder, attempted murder and attempted hijacking.
On the day of the incident, three armed suspects stopped the tourists and instructed them to open the doors of their vehicle. The one suspect shot the German after he locked all the doors.

He reversed for about 100 meters before colliding into the wall of Heroes Academy. He died at the scene and the suspects sped off. “A murder case was opened and police launched a manhunt for the suspects,” read the police statement.
