Man hacks friend with axe

A 30-year-old man is accused of fatally hacking a suspected intruder who peeped through his rented room’s window in the early hours of Sunday morning.

According to reports, the suspect allegedly grabbed an axe, hacking the victim in the head.“Police are currently investigating the circumstances that might have led to the brutal act.”

“It is further alleged that people knew both the deceased and suspect as friends who were together earlier on before the incident,” said provincial police spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala. He is expected to appear in the Belfast Magistrate’s Court today.
