KANYAMAZANE – This year’s Mpumalanga Tourism Expo is set to bring in more partnerships with two more countries.
This was revealed during the expo’s media launch hosted by Jakada Holdings that will take place from October 4 to 6 at Riverside Mall in collaboration with the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA).
With the aim of promoting both domestic and regional tourism by creating a platform for different role players in the tourism industry and promoting cross-border activities, the partnerships with the Eswatini Tourism Authority (ETA) and the Mozambique Tourism Board (Inatur) will be beneficial.

Two more additional programs introduced this year include the Tourism Student Tour in partnership with the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) for students to not only learn but to fully experience tourism.
Speaking during his address, Acting Chief Executive Officer, Justus Mohlala said this would also be a good opportunity for tourism students to interact with exhibitors, gain experience on exhibitions and witness tourism in action.
“Since the inception of this expo, several students were hosted and we realized an exponential growth in terms of interest from various colleges and schools. In 2021 we started with only 30 students who attended the expo to 50 last year,” he said.

“We are targeting to have 18 host buyers which will equal to a 29% increase in the growth of the Tourism Expo. We encourage those with products or services others can utilize to start preparing themselves for October,” he said.
The Mpumalanga Tourism Expo is an annual tourism exhibition event hosted annually. The aim of the event is to promote domestic tourism, especially during Tourism Month and regional integration.
