Heavy rains left a trail of destruction in various areas of the Lowveld yesterday.
Disaster Management teams are on high alert following a heavy rainfall on Friday which caused major damage around Hazyview.
The rain with strong winds resulted in two schools, a clinic and about 50 homes being damaged. Ehlanzeni District’s spokesperson, Lucky Ngomane said power supply has also been interrupted.”Power supply is interrupted but blankets and relief tents have been distributed to families identified. The Red Cross Society has activated its volunteers join Disaster Management teams at the Mahushu bus station in distributing relief items
